No fallout from travel advisories, says Cummings

MONTEGO BAY, St James — President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) Wayne Cummings said yesterday that so far there have been no reports of cancellation of bookings, arising from the travel advisories issued by the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, late last week.

"The impact has been more verbal that anything else in the travel trade. Right now there are no cancellations, but the travel agents are very concerned," Cummings told the Sunday Observer.

The three countries -- which provide the bulk of visitors to the island -- issued advisories urging their citizens to take extra care, particularly in the downtown area of Kingston.
